Poster Developments

The final posters need to convey the ideas of surveillance, late 90's early 2000's internet visuals, and chaos. These are the main elements of the film that are going to be carried out throughout all elements of the project.

I created this poster by overlaying different scans that we previously collaged. I chose to use that variation of the title as the breaking apart and the transition is very glitchy which relates to technology and focuses in on the idea of it breaking apart/distress as it itself is a distressed pattern. I edited the white paper to appear as though it's cut out in a way that resembles wires and connections as it continues off to the edge of the paper.
The 'c' in public and a tear in the sheet is my approach to conveying an image of an eye which I find successful as its hidden element is more representative of the surveillance through the digital world as it's not something we think about often anymore. The idea that people our using our information and people are always watching is just part of everyday modern life - the idea of big brother.
The screens are imagery from early 2000s softwares used on computers from MS paint that makes it directly related to the era in which the documentary is based and suggests creativity which is what the internet was about at the time.
I chose to use Andale Mono as my typeface as it's a typeface created for software developments and coding which connotes the coding that goes behind becoming an internet entrepreneur.
This poster concept is based more directly on the idea of surveillance. The barcode represents the idea of consumerism and also directly relates to Josh Harris' mention of concentration camps - how he wanted his social experiment to be like one. The inclusion of orange is to bring an element from the film to the poster. The orange connotes prison cells which is what the QUIET social experiment was like.

This variation of the poster is to explore the idea of containment. The image taking only part of the screen with the cursor connotes the idea of a computer screen and how contained all our personal information is.
