final poster design

This is our final poster design that Ryan, Sam and I decided on this morning. We chose 9 A3 designs we liked the most to create the A0 size requirement. The bottom right image flows really nicely into the adjacent images due to where the white space fits and joins to the corners of the sheet creating its own path. The focal poster design in the centre is going to be printed on a neon green paper to create focus and draw the eye into it, also adding a more electronic and manic look to the design, bringing it to life. The small amount of neon also resembles that of a camera light when its filming which in turn resembles back to the movie and the key aspects within it.
We decided on a clean grid style because the designs themselves were already very chaotic so we didn’t want it to become too much for the viewer to look at, therefore the grid gave it a amount of order and control which it needed.
Originally the final layout save the bottom left and top right the other way around but I thought this made the design too white heavy on the right and dark on the left, it didn’t look even. When I pointed this out to Ryan and Sam they both agreed and once we moved them over the design had a more even tone weight and looked more balanced.
Overall I like the use of direction and vertical text on the surrounding images, it works well with the focal design. The inner design having the second framing around the type creates a more central design and works well along with the dark background.
