Social Media Role

Main Concept
To relate the Instagram feed to the rest of the project and the film, I aimed to continue the main themes of y2k digital themes, claustrophobia and distress. I chose to use many images from the actual final posters or scans that make up the poster as this directly relates it however changed elements of it to be animated in a way that represents distress or chaoticness such as the eerie eyeball moving about unnaturally, or the eye blinking to convey and focus in on the idea of surveillance - the audience is constantly being watched from all aspects of the project. The layout - especially using grids to split up the posters - is directly related to the way in which our final poster is to be presented. It's also used to fill the Instagram feed and create a sense of information overload which can cause distress and relates to the 'QUIET' social experiment Josh Harris carried out as well as the documentary itself as it was filled with so much information given in a fast pace that it was made quite difficult to watch.

Gifs

Layout

This break in the feed is to convey the idea of containment - information contained in screens.
This inverted and glitched version of a scan is to visually represent elements of early internet use and imagery from the film - e.g the glitching signifies the distress and the quality of technology back then.
This large image is disrupted by the gif as it allows it to be more eye-catching which is important as it includes information about the screening. The breaking up follows the gridded theme within the actual collage as well as they are all contained in screens.
Poster used within Final poster collage - represents how it's going to be displayed as gridded.

These three gifs are placed together as it's very chaotic and looks as though they can be part of the poster. They take elements from the final posters but are animated to connote surveillance and glitching.
